Chocolate TV Commercial a hit

Collins Media hit the headlines again this week with the production of a cheeky new TV commercial for the Chocolate Rush festival in Melbourne.
The cheeky new commercial features a mock pilates class with New York model Michael Monrose visiting town to shoot the new ad.

The shoot caused a stir and made front page of the local news paper "The commercial is quirky and left of centre," said producer Walt Collins.

"This is another chance for us to show off Ballarat to our metro cousins. Filming this commercial in Ballarat has been made really simple and straightforward, thanks to the city's proactive film liaison department.

"Normally this commercial would be shot in Melbourne, but this time we were convinced Ballarat was the correct location," he said.

Festival director Simone Gordon agreed that Ballarat was the best place to shoot the commercial.

"All the fun stuff happens in the country," she said.

"Being based in regional Victoria myself, I like to showcase it as much as I can to Melbourne and the rest of Australia."

The Chocolate Rush Festival is expected to attract over 10,000 chocolate loving people and will include workshops, classes, chocolate sculptures, chocolate mud wrestling, chocolate tattoos, regional food and wine, a kid's kitchen and an Australian industry"

University of Ballarat TV ads

New Mid Year 2009 commercials produced by Collins Media.
Cubed Communications has hired Collins to produce the creative and production for the new phase in University of Ballarat's TV campaigns. New music a new style and clever taglines will go to air this week across Victoria.
The ads will promote the university's mid year intake. A new contract for the marketing was awarded to Cubed Communications in Melbourne recently, but Collins will continue to do production for Cubed for the time being on the new 'Shape your Universe' campaign.

Lake Wendouree Refilled

Collins Media together with Royce Communications formed RoyceCollins, a forward thinking team producing strategy and production for numerous clients. One of the first projects awarded to the alliance is a new glossy, edgy and stylised DVD for City of Ballarat.

City of Ballarat, Central Highlands Water and State Government have actioned a plan to refill the now dry lake in Ballarat. The jewel in the crown of the city's tourism. RoyceCollins were charged with the task of creating a new brand for the whole lake and a captivating DVD to illustrate the process AND the meaning.

Shot over a whole week, using a clever jib boom arm for sleek camera movements and a beautiful HD camera, the crew completed a 16 minute DVD.

The DVD has not yet been released but will be seen by thousands, plus have its airing on local television.

Then we may have the job for you. Walt Collins is seeking a young gun producer / segment producer who can work across a variety of television projects. Ranging from content production for TV, corporate TV, commercials and other media projects.

You need to be active, healthy, positive and a go-getter. There's no room in our business for whingers or stale cookies.
You'll be working out of our Collins St office and will answer directly to Walt Collins.
You'll have proven skills, a good showreel and a point of difference. This is the chance to join an amazing production company and be your own unit.

Package includes phone. Neg sal $55k per year upwards, depending on experience.

Collins Media today announces it has been commissioned to design the brand for the new Eureka Stadium Ballarat. The graphic design, TV production and brand positioning will be created from the Collins Ballarat office and will be seen across the country in live televised TV events.

Today we can announce that communications and branding company ROYCE and Collins Media have formed a partnership alliance to form a media 'powerhouse'. The Collins Royce operation will combine the strategy, communications and brand expertise of Royce, with the Collins Media production and creative brains to capture new markets across Australia.

Part of the operation will see the welcoming of Royce to the Collins Studios in central Ballarat, plus a new Collins presence in the spectacular office at 55 Collins St, Melbourne CBD.

A truly exciting time for both companies, exploring areas of media which were unavailable to each other in traditional models.

Collins Media is growing. And as part of our strategy of moving forwards as a TV production, TV commercial and advertising agency leader, we need a new website.

Creating a website for such a dynamic, cutting edge and funky advertising agency is tough going! Collins Media doesn't like dark, drab, black and grey websites, usually associated with media companies.

So, we're sticking to our colour scheme of bright, clean and key word friendly. Limited flash, but concise and Google friendly body text. Here's a sneak preview of how it will look:

We are using our sister company, New Biz Solutions located within our studio complex at Collins Media HQ to build the back end of our site. Clients of ours can also enjoy our creative service for website creation, plus utilise our buying power to get a great site built by New Biz Solutions.

Smart Online Profit Systems hires Collins

Collins Media's TV PRODUCTION unit was hired in March to produce a major new 6x DVD set, revealing the secrets to making money online and internet marketing.

Walter Collins, producer and his crew were dispatched at short notice to the Smart Online Profit Systems Perth weekend. Leading internet marketers Shaun Stenning and Sean Rasmussen hired Collins Media to capture the events.
Shooting in HD with the latest SONY z1 cameras, the crew captured the 25 hours of footage.
The crew were amazed with the company's ability to make average Joe Bloggs with no web experience, make money instantly and literally overnight! Hence the birth of our Collins Media blog.
Go visit them, check it out and we highly recommend this client to anybody who would like financial freedom from doing.. well.. really.. not very much at all!!
